| May 15th~20th 2008: Takeshi Yamashima Shihan in Hawaii |
| Takeshi Yamashima, 7th dan Aikikai, will be spending a week in the Hawaiian islands from May 15th~May 20th. Takeshi Yamashima was a long-time student of Seigo Yamaguchi and was often assigned to attend O-Sensei during the last years of his life. He instructs at the Chiyoda-ku Aikikai, Minami Tanaka Dojo, and the Nerima Aikido Rengokai Dojo, and can usually be found at Aikikai Hombu morning practice. He is also licensed in Yagyu Shinkage Ryu. A group of his students will be accompanying him from Japan.
He will be visiting a number of dojo - practitioners of Aikido are welcome at all classes, regardless of rank or affiliation: Thursday, May 15th: Pearl City Aikido Dojo, 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. For questions or more detailed information please contact Chris Li through the contact form on The Aikido Ohana website. |
| May 31st 2008: Aiki Kai O Kona 20th Anniversary |
| Aiki Kai O Kona is planning a seminar on Saturday May 31, 2008 to celebrate their 20th year as a club in Kona. The seminar will be at the oceanside facility of Hale Halawai in historic Kailua-Kona.
Senior instructors of participating dojos will provide instruction. There will also be a public demonstration to promote Aikido to the community and visitors. An announcement is available here in jpeg format. AIKI KAI O KONA |
| June 27th~29th 2008: The Aikido Ohana Summer Gasshuku 2008 |
| Alan Nagahisa and The Aikido Ohana are happy to invite all Aikido students to our annual summer gasshuku at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens on the windward side of Oahu. Please join us for a weekend of camping and outdoor training together.
