| Glenn Yoshida Sensei 6th dan Shihan of Aikido Renshinkan in Honolulu will be visiting the Kohala Aikikai on July 18 and 19, 2009. There will be two classes on Saturday afternoon (2:00 and 3:15) and two classes Sunday morning (9:30 and 10:45). Please come and Join us! Fees are $15 each day or $30 for both days. Juniors 10-14 are $5 per class. There will not be any children's classes. Please let us know if you will join us for dinner at a local restaurant on Saturday evening at 6:00. | Nuuanu Aikido Club is celebrating its 50th year in October. They are searching for any old photos of Sadoa Yoshioka Sensei and Nuuanu Aikido club. If any one has photos that they would like to share they could send them to James McGhee via computer or arrangements can be made for duplication if they are not digitized. | Aikido Renshinkan and Hawaii Betsuin Aikido Club are pleased to announce that Hombu Dojo Shihan Mariko Takamizo will be in Honolulu to conduct four day of Aikido training at the Hongwanji Mission School gymnasium from Thursday, Nov 12th to Sunday, Nov 15th 2009. The seminar will be held in memory of Yorio Wakatake, MD. Mariko Takamizo has been with the Aikikai, Hombu Dojo for over 25 years. She has been trained by 2nd Doshu Kisshomauru Ueshiba, and senior Hombu instructors such as Kisaburo Osawa,and Sadateru Arikawa, to name a few. She has assisted in seminars in Hong Kong, France, the United States, and currently instructs at several locations in Metropolitan Tokyo including high schools and universities.
